Youth Employment Initiative
Helping Youth Join the Workforce
The Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) is a statewide workforce development demonstration project designed to provide youth aged 16-24 with disabilities and involved in the justice system with the necessary tools, resources, and support to successfully transition into the workforce. Two Feathers NAFS will be working with Humboldt County Probation, Office of Education, Department of Rehabilitation, and other community-based partners to achieve our youth's goals through this program.

Job Exploration Counseling
Career assessments, site visits, and career coaching.
Work-Based Learning Experiences
Overseeing wage-based internships and other paid work-based learning opportunities and coordination with employers to facilitate job placements.
Postsecondary Counseling
College and vocational program enrollment guidance.
Workplace Readiness Training
Soft skills, financial literacy, and digital literacy workshops.
Self-Advocacy Training
Disability rights education and self-advocacy coaching.
Job Placement & Retention Services
Employer engagement, direct job placement, and retention monitoring.
