Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Compensation: $17 to $18 per hour, plus benefits

Two Feathers NAFS is a local nonprofit chartered by the Big Lagoon Rancheria. Two Feathers NAFS’ mission is to inspire healthy and balanced Native American communities in Humboldt County. To achieve our goal, we work with Native American children and families in a good way which includes using culturally-based interventions that promote holistic health and developing respectful collaborations with both Native and Non-Native agencies.

General Function

Under the supervision of the Administration Manager of Two Feathers NAFS, the Administrative Assistant is required to perform front office related tasks as well as to administratively assist the Administration Manager and other team members. This position requires a Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM schedule, in the office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and assist callers; take messages as needed and share with team members, as
  • Open and distribute incoming mail (electronic and paper); prepare outgoing mail
  • Greet people entering the office, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them
    to the specific destination
  • Schedule appointments, when needed
  • Maintain files for agency (accounting records, grant files, and client files)
  • Provide information about agency, such as location, services provided, or events to employees
    and clients and the community
  • Assist team members with administrative and technology needs
  • Inventory supplies on hand and order supplies when needed
  • Fill out purchase orders for accounts payables, to be delivered to our accountant
  • Deliver and pick up documents to/from accountant, bank, and other partners
  • Shop for events
  • Assist administrative team coordinate internal meetings and events
  • Collaborate with other team members on projects and activities
  • Attend and participate in Two Feathers’ events, when appropriate


  • Experience: Two years of prior administrative experience working in an office environment, preferred
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • Current driver’s license, in good standing
  • Fingerprint clearance with the Department of Justice, FBI, and Child Abuse Index
  • Must have proof of COVID-19 vaccination
  • Must comply with a drug-free workplace

  • This is a full-time position. Salary will be determined on experience, education, and licensure.
  • Health insurance: Employees are eligible after the first full month of employment and Two Feathers NAFS pays 80% of the cost of the employee’s Anthem Silver PPO plan health coverage.
  • Dental and Vision are also available at cost to employee.
  • Retirement Plan: Employees are eligible for a Simple IRA after the first year of employment. Two Feathers will match dollar for dollar the employee’s elective deferral contribution up to 3% of the employee’s total annual compensation.
  • Full-time employees accrue 96 hours of sick time and 1 week of vacation within the first year of employments, to increase to 2 weeks of vacation earned per year after the first year.

COVID-19 Considerations

All employees and clients are expected to wear facial coverings when interacting (indoors and outdoors). Employees must be COVID-19 vaccinated.
